One Plan, Every Tool: RetirePro Premium Is Now $9/mo
We changed how RetirePro is priced, and we changed what the AI Advisor can do. Both changes point the same direction: less deciding, more planning.
Here is exactly what changed, why, and what it means for you.
The old way: two paid tiers, ten locked badges
Until now, RetirePro had three levels — Free, Pro at $9/mo, and Premium at $19/mo. Features were split across the two paid tiers. The sidebar showed locked badges labeled PRO and PRO+, and the paywall asked you to choose a tier before you could see whether the tools were worth it.
That was a bad trade. It made you do pricing homework instead of retirement homework.
The new way: one paid plan
| Before | Now | |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 3 accounts, basic projection | Unchanged — 3 accounts, expected-case projection, Social Security estimator |
| Pro | $9/mo | Retired as a separate tier |
| Premium | $19/mo | $9/mo — every feature included |
There is now one paid plan. It is called Premium, it costs $9/mo (or $84/yr, which saves 22%), and it includes everything RetirePro does:
- The AI Retirement Advisor
- Full Monte Carlo analysis — 1,000 scenarios, not a summary
- Best- and worst-case market stress test
- Social Security claiming optimizer
- Tax planning and Roth conversion tools
- Estate planning — estate tax, inheritance, and trust calculators
- Advanced scenarios — 72(t) SEPP, long-term care, rent vs. buy, and more
- Unlimited accounts, net worth, budget, and mortgage planners
- Professional PDF and HTML reports, cloud sync, and the monthly plan review email

If you were on the old $19 plan
Your plan did not change, and you did not lose access to anything. We moved every legacy $19 subscription to the $9 price with proration turned off — nothing was charged on the change, and your next invoice is $9.00 instead of $19.00. You are already on Premium.
If you were on the old $9 Pro plan
You also already have everything. What used to be gated behind $19 — the AI Advisor, the estate tools, the advanced scenarios — is now included at your existing price.
The other upgrade: the AI Advisor now runs your numbers
The AI Advisor used to answer with context about your plan. Now it runs the calculations itself, on your saved plan, and shows you the work.
Ask a question in plain English and the Advisor can call five real tools:
| Tool | What it actually computes |
|---|---|
| Monte Carlo simulation | Your success rate and ending-balance percentiles across 1,000 market scenarios — instead of estimating a success rate from memory |
| Year-by-year projection | Expected, optimistic, and pessimistic balances at retirement, your ending balance, and how many years the money lasts |
| Social Security estimate | Your benefit at 62, at full retirement age, and at 70, plus your selected claiming age — from your saved earnings record |
| Tax estimate | Federal and state income tax for a given gross retirement income, using your saved filing status and state rate — instead of quoting brackets from memory |
| Account summary | Your balances by tax type (pre-tax, Roth, taxable, HSA, 457) plus the required minimum distribution at a given age |
Because the math runs locally in your browser against the plan you already saved, the Advisor cannot quietly change your numbers to make an answer work. It reads your plan and computes.
What you see while it works
- A live status line — "Running Monte Carlo simulation on your plan", "Estimating your Social Security benefit" — so you know a calculation is happening rather than waiting on a blank answer.
- A "Show calculation details" panel on any answer that used a tool, listing every figure the calculation returned.
- Replay with current plan — if you edit your numbers after an answer, the answer is marked stale and you can re-ask the same question against your updated plan in one click, instead of re-typing it.
- Clearer error handling — if the Advisor is rate-limited, needs a sign-in, or hits a service problem, you get the specific reason and what to do next, rather than a generic failure.
Why we made the change
We looked at what actually happened after the last checkout fix. Across 18 real checkout sessions, every single buyer chose the $9 plan. Nobody chose the $19 tier. The only recent $19 purchase was an upgrade that was refunded, with the note "this isn't what I thought I was paying for."
When the data says nobody wants your higher tier, arguing with it is expensive. The AI Advisor — the strongest thing we've built — was sitting behind the $19 gate where almost nobody saw it. Moving it to $9 puts it in front of every paid user, and the cost is negligible: a 5-message session with the Advisor costs about two cents.
The bottleneck was never revenue per user. It was that not enough people got far enough to see the value.
What this means for your plan
Nothing about your data or your projections changed. If you are a paid subscriber, you now pay $9 instead of $19 for the same — plus more. If you are on Free, the free tier still works exactly as before: 3 accounts, the expected-case projection, and the Social Security estimator, with no credit card.
If you have been waiting to try the AI Advisor or the estate tools, the wait is over. They are in the one plan, at the lower price.
