Editorial Policy
How we create, verify, and maintain our content.
Last updated: January 2026
AI Disclosure
We believe in transparency about how content is created. Here is our approach:
- •Blog content: Articles are researched and outlined by our team, with AI tools used to assist with drafting and formatting. Every article is reviewed and fact-checked by a human before publication.
- •Calculations: All financial formulas are hand-written and independently validated. AI is not used in any calculation logic — every formula is deterministic and verifiable.
- •AI Advisor feature: The in-app AI advisor (Premium tier) uses large language models to provide conversational guidance. It explicitly states it is AI-generated and includes a disclaimer that it is not financial advice.
Content Standards
Retirement planning is a YMYL (Your Money, Your Life) topic. We take this seriously:
- 1.Source verification: Tax rates, IRS limits, and Social Security figures are verified against official government sources (IRS.gov, SSA.gov) before publication.
- 2.Annual updates: Articles referencing tax year limits, contribution maximums, or regulatory changes are reviewed and updated when new figures are released.
- 3.No personalized advice: We provide educational information and tools. We never tell a reader what they should specifically do with their money.
- 4.Corrections: If we discover an error, we correct it promptly and note the correction at the top of the affected article.
Fact-Checking Process
Every article goes through this process before publication:
- 1Research: Topic researched using primary sources — IRS publications, SSA documentation, peer-reviewed studies, and established financial planning textbooks.
- 2Draft: Article drafted with all claims linked to their source material.
- 3Review: Numerical claims spot-checked against original sources. Calculations verified in the RetirePro tool where applicable.
- 4Publish: Article published with publish date. Articles marked with “Last Updated” when revised.
Revenue & Conflict of Interest
RetirePro earns revenue through paid subscription tiers (Pro at $9/month and Premium at $19/month). This is our only revenue source.
- •We do not accept sponsored content or paid placements in our blog.
- •We do not earn commissions from financial products or advisory referrals.
- •Blog articles may reference RetirePro features — this is clearly noted when it occurs.
Report an Error
Found a factual error, outdated figure, or inaccurate calculation? We want to know. Email us at support@retirepro.io with the article URL and the correction needed. We review every report and issue corrections within 48 hours when warranted.
