Tips for Better Projections
📊 Use Conservative Returns
We default to 7% average returns (historical S&P 500 minus inflation). If you want extra safety margin, try 5-6%. This accounts for higher fees, tax drag, or a lower-growth future.
🏥 Don't Forget Healthcare
Healthcare costs in retirement average $315,000+ per couple (Fidelity 2025 estimate). Add these to your expected expenses, especially if retiring before Medicare eligibility at 65.
💡 Include All Income Sources
Social Security, pension, rental income, and part-time work all reduce how much you need from savings. Add these on the Income tab for a more accurate projection.
🎯 Aim for 80%+ Success Rate
Our Monte Carlo simulation shows your probability of not running out of money. Financial planners typically target 80-90% success. Below 70% means your plan needs adjustments.
