The low-tax window for Roth conversions
After you retire but before RMDs begin at age 73, your income often drops into a lower tax bracket. Converting traditional IRA funds to a Roth during these years can mean paying tax at a lower rate. Use money from taxable accounts to cover the bill so the converted amount grows tax-free.
